This incredible piece began with a half-round log I discovered in the muddy field of an old logging mill near Bandon, Oregon.

When the piece was cut for bookmatching, the knot was dislodged and I thought lost. My brilliant joiner was able to restore the piece and make it appear as though the single knot spanned the pair of slabs and fool the eye.

This piece of ancient Redwood is truly stunning and the grain shimmers when you walk around it!

Finished with food grade oil+wax, polished with beeswax.
